My Images From DSLR Camera
My favourite image I caught has to be the 15th one on my gallery, this one is similar to one of my previous ones, however I added a pair of hands to make it look more interesting, the hands are in a bird shape to get a spookey looking affect.
Another image I like is the 8th one down, specifically because of how I angled the camera and caught all the different types of lines. I specifically caught this image by moving my cameras angle to capture a variety of edges, which was my task. I also like the 7th one down due to how I used a still life object to catch an effect of a moon. I zoomed in on the still life object which was one of the lights to get a dark surrounding but make the actual object stand out by being light. This created a really unique contrast, as the white fades out nearer to the edge of the circle. One of my least favourite images is the one of the brick wall, this is because I feel it has no meaning to it and can come across as boring and plain. To make this image more interesting I could have angled my camera differently or added another object to it, for example maybe leaves or branches to make it look more interesting. Another image that I don't like as much is image 11, specificallly because I didn't focus on one thing, to improve on this photo I could have focused my camera on one object or something interesting to make the image look more appealing. |
Images From IPod
These are a range of images I have previously taken inspired by the theme "edges". My focus whilst taken these was to make the images appear abstract as well as contributing all the different edges.
My favourite image is the last. This is because I like how you are exposed to the different tones, textures, shapes and lines. I also like how you can see the different lines in-between each circle. This widens the space visible in the picture. However, it is not a aesthetically pleasing image.

Randy Grskovic is an artists who creates fine arts and interacts with media communication.
He has been known to create all types of images that represent different edges.
My favourite image made by this artist is the 5th one in my gallery. I specifically like how he
has created a unique effect by seperrating nature and human life. Also I like the contrast between the black, white and red, this could represent a variety of things which I like as it leaves people wondereing about the actual meaning of the image.

My Evaluation
WWW: I specifically like the contrast between the black&white and colour, I feel this is a really unique technique to do, specially using the gate as a outline. I also like how I arranged the different parts so they matched the actual surrounding of the picture. EBI: To improve this image I could have made my camera more focused as if you look closely the actual image of the gate, branches and leaves looks a bit blury (out of focus). Also, I could have experimented with different shapes instead of following the lines of the gate. WWW: In this piece I like how I arranged the strips of different colour in a different way instead of having them all lined up like the original piece with the gate. EBI: To improve on this image I could have made all the sides equal to get a more professional look. I could have also focused the camera more like I said on my previous evaluation, or I could have put an effect on the picture to make it not look as out of focus. |
WWW: I used a different technique to make an image, which is called weaving. I like how this turned out, as you can still see the actual photo behind the weaving.
EBI: To improve this picture I could have used two different pictures to create this weaving effect or even made the image its self smaller. |
Final Evaluation
For this project the theme I was exploring was edges. My first thoughts of this theme were that it was going to be limited experimenting. However, my ideas changed as my work developed. I then found out that with the theme edges there is a variety of things I could explore. For example, natural objects or the horizon.
During this project I have researched an artist called Randy Grskovic, I originally discovered him by my teacher and then I went into more detailed research by myself. From studying his work I have learned many things. Such as when taking photos of edges you can never go wrong as everything has an edge! I also learned that there are many different techniques you can use when experimenting with edges.
During my personal project I have experimented with different media for example, the iPODS, my iPHONE and the DSLR Camera! I have also used different techniques such as, weaving, cutting, repositioning and photo shop. Some techniques worked better than others and I used all these methods to develop my work. I started off with a simple method such as just cutting up the images and repositioning them on card and then to develop my work even more I experimented with the process called weaving.
Personally I think the weaving method worked very well for me, it was hard at first but then I got the hang of it and made a unique piece. The least successful for me was photo shop. I experimented with this method but didn't make anything successful because I found this challenging. In the future i'd like to experiment with photoshop more as I feel you can make amazing art work from using it. Along the way of my project I wanted to use different pictures but then I just stuck to the one I had but changed its lay out to define my art work more.
